Phong Vo Presented with the Hero of Industry Award

Phong Vo, Project Director and Senior Consultant at Ardaman & Associates, Inc. was recognized as a Hero of Industry by the Florida Section of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) at the 36th Annual Regional Mining Conference of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME) in Plant City, Florida. Phong was recognized for his “exemplary professional service, which has contributed significantly to the continuing vitality of the Phosphate Industry.” Michelle Navar – Chair of the AIChE, Central Florida Chapter presented the award to Phong.
Phong earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mining engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Since 1979, he has served two years in underground mining in Western Pennsylvania, four years in taconite iron ore mining in Northern Minnesota, and over 38 years in the phosphate mining industry in Central Florida. In the phosphate industry, he has served key positions in mining, mineral processing, mine waste disposal, phosphate fertilizer production, and phosphogypsum management, and most recently on the consulting side with Ardaman & Associates, Inc. in their Corporate Engineering Group in Orlando, Florida.
Over his illustrious career, Phong has gained experience in virtually all aspects of phosphate fertilizer operations, including:
